Overall, the Oregon wine is more satisfying to sip by itself. It has easily accessible flavors and a light fruity sweetness that makes it a pleasing sip. It is not flabby nor unctuous, though, and I would never call it a "cocktail wine," as I might a Pinot from some other producers and locales (California comes to mind again). The Burgundy is not nearly as enjoyable by itself. After numerous sips the acidity and less-than-obvious fruitiness wears a bit.
